I don't even remember where I first heard about Synergy. It might have been from Mike Farmer, back when we were both at Sento, but I'm not sure anymore. In any event, it sounded cool, but I never really got around to trying it out, and soon forgot all about it. After all, I spent most of my time on a laptop, with no real need to use desktop machines for anything, so I didn't need it, right?
A little over a week ago, I heard about it again, this time from Phil Burns. Since I do use my laptop next to a desktop machine part of the time now, it made sense to try it out, and I must say, I'm impressed. In fact, I'm typing this from the keyboard on my desktop (running FreeBSD), but the text is appearing in a browser window on my Powerbook. Cool stuff!
Doubtless most of you who use two computers frequently already use Synergy, but if you're like me and haven't gotten around to trying it out yet, by all means, do!
