I picked up the bike from the shop last night on my way to a soccer game, and this morning I tried riding it to work. Fortunately I allowed for plenty of time: it took about an hour to get there. That will probably improve. It's been a long time since I did any significant amount of riding, so I'm a bit out of shape.
Provo is a pretty nice place for biking. Most of the route I ride to work is along the Provo River Parkway trail. Unfortunately, there's a section of the trail that's torn up for construction right now, but that work seems to be progressing fairly well, so hopefully the trail will open up again soon.
About the only problem with the ride today was that I couldn't ride home again: it was raining, and I wasn't really ready for that. Not to complain, of course: we need all the rain we can get around here! I do need to do something to prepare for biking in wet weather, though, or at least pay more attention to the weather forecast. A nice sunny morning does not imply a nice sunny afternoon, it seems. Fortunately a co-worker offered me a ride home.
